Car of the Year 2017

Toyota C-HR scoops prestigious award

The new Toyota C-HR has won the title of European Car of the Year 2017 (COTY), scooping the prestigious award ahead of six other highly regarded new cars.

Following in the footsteps of previous Toyota COTY winners, Yaris (2001) and Prius (2005), the Toyota C-HR has been declared the outstanding car of the last 12 months by a respected judging panel consisting of 58 senior motoring journalists from around Europe.

Seven finalists, selected from a long list of nominees, were apportioned points based on a number of criteria, including: design, comfort, safety, environmental requirements and driver satisfaction – with particular importance given to technical innovation and value for money. With each judge having a total of 25 points to allocate to at least five cars, and a maximum of 10 for any one car, the Toyota C-HR sealed an impressive victory.

Having only been available on European roads in the last few months, the Toyota C-HR has wasted little time in making a big impression with car buyers. Its blend of sculptured, high-riding SUV looks, luxurious cabin and responsive drive offers something completely new for those wanting to stand out. With a COTY crown to add to its growing list of accolades, the Toyota C-HR and its many admirers, really are in perfect flow.
